About Mac Carter
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
I taught myself guitar at 11—it was the raw echo of garage noise, twisting dirty blues, classic rock, and metal licks through a Clash‑city punk pulse that felt like freedom.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Pink Floyd, The Dark Side of the Moon Remastered
Radiohead, OK Computer
Sex Pistols, Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols
Each album is a chapter of who I am—my guitar, my craft, my story. Raised on classic rock, punk, and alt, I was pulled into bands by 15, carried forward by the music that shaped my earliest days.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
Pete Shelley encouraged me to join Kathleen Turner Overdrive in ’93. Opened for The Ramones in ’96 with KTO. Spent three days on the road with the Sex Pistols that same year. Inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2015 with Drivin’ N’ Cryin’
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
I’m creating three new albums for 2026, each shaped by the influences that built my sound. I’m also crafting a tribute EP honoring two extraordinary musicians I was lucky to work with who are no longer with us.”
