Spanish singer Maria Carrasco was born July 15, 1995, in Torrecera, a small town in Cadiz. By age eight, Carrasco had so impressed those around her with her vocal abilities and mastery of the flamenco style that she was encouraged to participate in the television competition Veo Veo. Carrasco won the regional program, and finished in fourth place in the national finals. She later became a regular cast member on Menuda Noche, a children's program that aired on Canal Sur television, and also received numerous invitations to perform in festivals in her native Andalusia. Carrasco's solo debut album, 2007's Hablando con la Luna, hit number 14 on the national charts. When her fourth album, Pequeño Deseo, arrived in 2012, Carrasco was only 16 years old. ~ Evan C.
