About Marc Mundy
Genre
Rock
In late 1970, Marc Mundy recorded a self-released and self-titled album with rather amateurish Middle Eastern-accented vocals and mawkish tunes with a Middle Eastern melodic flavor, though the musical arrangements were in most ways fairly typical of those found on early-'70s singer/songwriter LPs. Born Emin Hassini in Cyprus, Mundy moved to New York as a 17-year-old in 1965 to join his brother, Anthony Hassini, who produced the Marc Mundy album. Just 500 copies of the album were pressed, and Mundy eventually returned to his native Cyprus to become a high-school teacher. The album was reissued on CD (with historical liner notes) by Companion in 2006. ~ Richie Unterberger
