Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. As a kid my parents made me take piano lessons, and I remember being amazed at how a message could be conveyed through chords, and as I learned more, I loved how each one served a purpose and defined different levels of tension.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Casiopea, CASIOPEA Childish Gambino, Camp Masayoshi Takanaka, An Insatiable High The Jazz fusion explorations and styles of Casiopea and An Insatiable High always get me excited about new possibilities in music, and the ending to Camp by Gambino shows a lot of maturity and personal progress that you don't often hear from artists.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Black Coffee” It was my first single, and it really represents what I learned about making music from working on my album. I was always on the edge of whether or not I wanted to share my music, but I think this song represents a positive mood that keeps me going.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I was trying to write a lead sheet one morning. I didn't know what genre I wanted to pursue (I still don't) and I had the realization, this is classical music!? I loved it and it just came naturally from the keyboard. That's my first interlude.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? There will always be something on the list. I do what makes me happy, and I'm determined to find that.
