About MC Neguinho do Kaxeta
MC Neguinho do Kaxeta is the alias of Brazilian funk singer Júlio Cesar Santos Ferreira. Neguinho began performing in local parties at the tail-end of the 1990s as one-half of the short-lived duo Lan e Neguinho. Soon a solo artist, over the next two decades Neguinho's career mirrored the constant evolution of Brazilian funk (a hybrid of several Black Brazilian genres rather than an iteration of the U.S. version championed by James Brown), which included phases such as conscientes, proibidões, ostentação, and putaria, typically named after the main topical concerns rather than changes in the style of music. Some of his biggest hits include 2019's "Sou Vitorioso" (featuring Mc Lele JP), 2020's "Oração Cantada" (featuring Djay W), and 2021's "Louco E Sonhador," as well as the series of albums Funk On the Beach. Origens appeared in 2024.
