In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My family would sing to me as a baby. My three older sisters would play New Order, Marvin Gaye, and Pearl Jam around the house. I have to think that some strange combination of those bands worked their way into my brain.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Animal Collective, Sung Tongs Decisive Pink, Ticket to Fame ML Buch, Suntub These albums completely own their identity. When I sit down at a synthesizer, I try to be myself, use the gear or instrument in an unintended, exploratory way. Sung Tongs, Suntub, and Ticket to Fame epitomize this approach.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Running” My father, struggling with mobility as he ages, says he's "slow mo." To him, that phrase is an embrace of limitations. As I struggled with my own health problems, slow became an identity. Running is about embracing a pace that isn't rewarded.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I played in the middle of western mass to a crowd of strangers, and they began to vocalize owl sounds along to my song "Shingle." They connected with music they had never heard in a way that I never could have planned.
