Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was four I randomly asked my brother to play a Michael Jackson song for me. I've never heard a MJ song up until that point, only heard of his name. I fell in love immediately and the rest is history.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Big Thief, Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You D'Angelo, Voodoo Prince & The Revolution, Purple Rain Soundtrack from the Motion Picture Something about creating your own rules. I don't think any album has ever reached the heights of epic that Purple Rain does, the levels of rewriting musical language that Voodoo does, nor the joy of spirituality that the Big Thief album does.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? When I performed my first ever show in celebration of my album releasing, someone who I knew but didn't talk to told me my music felt like Nick Drake's — he was my favorite songwriter at the time.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I'd like to play a music festival. Though a band would be nice, I'd much rather it be a solo acoustic set. One of those ones where a hungover audience sits in the grass during the early afternoon.
