Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Michael's break as an artist came in 1983 with KROQ spinning his first single. While chief engineer at Radio Tokyo Studios in Venice, CA, he recorded Jane's Addiction, Ray Manzarek (The Doors), Mazzy Star, John Lang and Richard Page (Mr. Mister).
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Crowded House, Woodface Stevie Wonder, Songs in the Key of Life Sting, ...Nothing Like the Sun Remastered Stevie's creativity was at a peak, and the album remains relevant. Sting expanded and refined his sound on his sophomore effort. Crowded House caught lightning in a bottle with both Finn brothers collaborating. The songwriting resonates with me.

Urban Olsson)” My wife and I thrived during the pandemic lockdown while others were struggling. "Nothing Lasts Forever" explores the awareness of mortality versus being mindful of the moment. We want to be together forever, but that's not how life works. Live now!
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Michael James has mixed or produced Gold, Platinum and #1 records for artists including New Radicals, Hole, Sammy Hagar, Far, L7, Robben Ford, Kalimba, Edwin McCain, Eric Church, GWAR, Maia Sharp, A.J. Croce, Chicago, Jawbreaker, and Mario Guerrero.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would love to write a song with Stevie Wonder, Martina McBride, Peter Gabriel or Neil Finn of Crowded House! Their songs are reminders that life is both messy and beautiful--we just need to be open to embracing the good stuff.
