Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The very first album I ever bought (with my parent's money) was Hot Butter "Popcorn" in 1972. I loved the sound and energy of that recording. The synthesizer. The percussion. It's taken me decades to absorb the influence of that experience. So good.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Brian Eno, Harold Budd, The Pearl Keith Jarrett, The Melody At Night, With You Mark Isham, Pure Mark Isham These three recordings have been incredibly important in me finding my voice as a composer and as a melodist. These recordings have taught me about space, making choices and committing to a musical point of view. Wonderful.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “I Have Loved You for a Thousand Lifetimes” It is amazing to me how popular this song has become. It's a pretty melody but it is not "better" than dozens of others I have composed. It makes me happy how many people get comfort and love this music. It's an honor and privilege.
