About MICS
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
At 12 or 13, watching family and elders DJ sparked something in me. Getting my first turntables and buying UK garage and grime vinyls made me curious about how music went from creation to being played to the masses. I didn't find music, it found me.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Joe Budden, Mood Muzik 3 (The Album)
Kanye West, The College Dropout
My listening stretches across generations and genres. That range has shaped my sound. MICS isn't influenced by one style, but by real life and a lifetime of different sounds, which is why my music is hard to place in one box.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Dear Mics”
“Dear MICS” captured me in 2016, speaking to myself through a time of real trials and uncertainty. “This path that I never chose, with these cards that was dealt” says it all. I can listen back now, picture that moment and know I overcame it.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
Seeing “Tell Me Interlude” reach millions was special, but hearing from strangers who connected with it meant more. Their stories showed me the record had become bigger than me. Something I created from my own experience had become part of theirs.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
I want to perform arenas, especially across Europe, earn a Gold record and reach 500k monthly listeners. But the real goal is longevity: building a successful career doing what I love and creating a life from music for myself and my family.
