About Middian
Portland, OR power trio Middian was founded in 2005 by vocalist and guitarist Mike Scheidt, when his previous musical concern, YOB, collapsed after releasing four albums of frequently acclaimed, epic-trance metal. Faced with the decision to either re-staff YOB with new players (bassist Isamu Sato and drummer Travis Foster having simultaneously quit), or start fresh under a new band moniker, Scheidt chose the latter and presently recruited Will Lindsay (bass/vocals) and Scott Headrick (drums) to complete Middian's lineup. Two years later, their debut effort, Age Eternal, was released by Metal Blade and, while its songs maintained the drawn-out templates emblematic of YOB's albums, they also explored additional elements of doom metal and post-hardcore. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
