In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
I earned a BFA in Jazz Piano from Cornish Institute in Seattle, studying under greats like Julian Priester and Hadley Caliman. I started as an improviser and push for as much of the magic of music in all its forms as I can possibly cram into a life.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Dr. John, Dr. John's Gumbo
Herbie Hancock, Head Hunters
The Rolling Stones, Beggars Banquet (2018 Remaster)
These albums propelled my love of music, my interest in piano and B3 Hammond and have always influenced my lyrics.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
My contributions to the Grammy-winning album L’Amour Ou La Folie with BeauSoleil and my mixing work on the documentary Icons Among Us are now part of the Smithsonian collection.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
I am currently working hard on a new set of music with the first release, “The Red Tear”, which marks a departure from my earlier work that is more personal and I hope will allow me to connect with all those who are processing their past and future.
