About Misako Uno
Misako Uno is a Japanese actress and vocalist known as a member of the award-winning J-pop group AAA and for her own solo work.
∙ As a teenager, she attended entertainment conglomerate Avex Group’s music school, and she made her debut in the Avex pop group AAA in 2005.
∙ Uno had her first feature-film role in the 2006 US horror movie The Grudge 2.
∙ She made her debut appearance on the Japanese public broadcasting station NHK’s prestigious New Year’s Eve show, Kōhaku Uta Gassen, in 2010.
∙ Included on the 2017 covers album Thank You Disney, Uno’s version of “Beauty and the Beast,” featuring AAA bandmate Nissy, was a No. 1 streaming hit in Japan.
∙ Her solo debut album, 2019’s Honey Stories—with the hit ballad “Doushitekoishitekonna” and the dance-pop tune “Summer Mermaid”—rose to No. 5 on the Japanese charts.
∙ In 2020, she participated in the internet trend of covering rising J-pop star Eito’s No. 1 hit “Kousui”—and the video of her version has garnered more than 5 million views.
