Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Daclan and I grew up surrounded by the raw energy of Waterford’s harbor. I remember our first jam session in a cold garage near the Quays—blending soulful melodies with hip-hop beats while the rain hit the roof. That was the birth of Mitara.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Hozier, Hozier (Special Edition) Lauryn Hill, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill Sigma, Sell My Soul (feat. Maverick Sabre) - Single These records perfectly fuse Irish soul with urban grit and hip-hop influences, which is the exact DNA of our sound.

Tell us why you chose this song. “PARADISE” Paradise’ represents our journey of finding light in the gray docks of Waterford. It blends Dara’s soulful vocals with a chill, rhythmic beat to create a sonic escape. It’s special because it shows our fans that paradise is a state of mind.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Performing our first live set where the crowd sang our lyrics back to us was incredible. Seeing our local fanbase in Ireland grow from a few friends to a dedicated community motivates us every single day to keep pushing our boundaries.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? We want to bring the Mitara sound to major festivals across Europe. Our dream is to prove that a duo from Waterford can bridge the gap between soulful singer-songwriter intimacy and the heavy energy of a hip-hop club stage.
