Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest musical memories is writing songs just for fun and using my pocket money to record them at Mbuzine Records on weekends. I was really young, but even then, I felt something special every time I stepped into that small studio.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? AKA, Touch My Blood Future, DS2 (Deluxe) Sade, Love Deluxe These three albums are timeless to me and perfectly define who I am as a person. They’ve shaped the sound I’m working to amplify in my own music and remain my biggest sources of inspiration.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “SUMMER LOVER (feat. Jhay)” "SUMMER LOVER" is special to me because it reignited my music career with a refreshing new sound that brought new life to my catalog. It also reminded me why I fell in love with making music in the first place.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most memorable moments of my career was performing in Cyprus, and hearing the crowd chant my song “WAH GWAAN” before it was even released. The energy in that room made me realize it’s truly possible for my art to connect with people.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? There’s plenty left on my bucket list, but one thing I would really love to achieve is representing my home country, Mozambique, on an international scale through my music. I want my art to connect with people all over the world.
