Artist Biography
Possessed of a serious pedigree and a seemingly endless reservoir of killer riffs, the mostly Michigan-based Nightkin is a death metal band that formed in 2012. The bandmembers -- singer Mike "Gunface" McKenzie of the Red Chord, former Black Dahlia Murder guitarist Dave Lock and drummer Zach Gibson, and former Incisor and Supercontinent (which also featured Lock) guitarist Matt Gauntlett and Matt West -- are no strangers to crushing, sonic heaviness. The band's sound is rooted in the crunching brutality of melodic death metal, with epic guitar riffs and guttural vocals combining to create a sound that's as technically dazzling as it is viscerally terrifying. Nightkin debuted their punishing sound on their self-released EP, Nox Æterna, in 2013. ~ Gregory Heaney
