About No Exqze
Genre
Pop
This melodic rock quartet from Holland was formed by ex-Vandenberg bass player Dick Kemper in 1987. Recruiting Geert Scheigrond (guitar), Leen Barbier (vocals) and Nico Groen (drums), they signed to Phonogram Records and debuted with Too Hard Too Handle in 1988. No Exqze allowed Kemper to indulge his writing talents, which had previously been suppressed in Vandenberg - not without good reason, it might be argued. Produced by Tony Platt, the album was dominated by Barbier’s soulful vocals, which added depth and character to Kemper’s rather average AOR-style compositions.
