New York quartet Nortonk make adventurous improvisational jazz inspired by the free-bop and avant-garde work of artists like Ornette Coleman and the more melodic style of Gerry Mulligan's pianoless ensembles. The group initially came together while they were students at William Paterson College in New Jersey. In 2021, they released their debut, the eponymously titled Nortonk, on Biophilia Records.
