In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember being so excited about the possibilities of writing music. I found a way to create the songs I wanted to hear that said the things I needed to hear. Through much trial/error I started to be able to record these ideas, fueling my passion.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Emery, In Shallow Seas We Sail Bonus Track Version La Dispute, Wildlife Say Anything, In Defense of the Genre It's difficult to narrow down, but these three had a profound impact. La Dispute inspired me through raw, emotional story-telling, Emery sparked my love for vocal harmony, and Say Anything showed me that it's okay to explore different sounds/styles.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Unfinished Rooms” This song was written about the last time I would see my grandfather before he succumbed to his battle with cancer. The song explores my memories while we watched him live those last days and the impact his passing had on those he left behind.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? There was a moment where I realized there were people who listen to my music who actually know the lyrics by heart.. I was both thrilled and honored to have connected with them in a meaningful way through my music. It still warms my heart every time.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I am a huge fan of independent films, so it would be a dream come true to hear my music in a movie (hopefully one I also enjoy watching...).
