In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest musical memories is getting lost in big, emotional pop songs and realising how powerful a single melody could be. That sense of connection and momentum has stayed with me ever since.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Chase & Status, No More Idols Ellie Goulding, Lights Pendulum, Immersion No More Idols showed me the power and scale of electronic music, Immersion added cinematic energy and melody, and Lights brought in emotional vocals and songwriting. Together they shaped my balance of energy, melody and feeling.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most memorable moments so far was hearing the first finished track come to life. Going from an idea to something that felt real and complete was the moment OAKIO really started.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? There’s a lot still to come. Building something that connects with people at scale and creates real shared moments is a big part of what I’m working towards.
