In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest musical memories was experimenting with old sampler and MIDI sequencers while discovering European techno music. I became obsessed with hypnotic rhythms and synthesized sounds, which later shaped Oaktek’s sound.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? KØLPØS, Thasis II Mathys Lenne, The Door of Perception Ep Vertical Spectrum, Sfora Lp I chose these albums because they deeply influenced my approach to groove, atmosphere, and sound design. Each one showed me a different way to create hypnotic energy and emotional tension in techno music.

Tell us why you chose this song. “Vortex Axis” I wanted to express rotational movement through techno-inspired sound design. The repetitive and driving energy of techno perfectly matched the hypnotic feeling of objects spinning at different speeds.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most memorable moments in my career was deciding to leave behind my previous identity as a techno artist and start over as Oaktek. It felt risky, but it gave me the freedom to rebuild my sound and artistic direction from the ground up.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? One thing still on my bucket list is achieving the perfect balance between originality and the structured form of techno. Techno has its own established language, and I want to push my individuality to the limit while still respecting that framework.
