Artist Biography
Japanese singer-songwriter and producer Yuki Ohashi has been making cinematic, jazz-influenced music as Ohashi Trio since 2007.
∙ A multi-instrumental solo artist who leads bands of various sizes, he chose the name Ohashi Trio as an homage to classic jazz trios, including that of pianist Oscar Peterson.
∙ His debut album, I Got Rhythm?, hit No. 1 on the Japanese iTunes Store’s top albums sales chart in 2009.
∙ “Monster,” his 2011 single featuring fellow singer-songwriter Motohiro Hata, peaked at No. 13 on Billboard’s Japan Hot 100 chart.
∙ Ohashi Trio’s cover of David Bowie’s “Starman,” which was used as the theme for the Japanese TV mini-series Starman - This Star’s Love, was released as a single in 2013.
