Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. In 9th grade, I wrote my first song, "Secretly In Love," inspired by Avril Lavigne's "Complicated." I jotted the lyrics in a scrapbook, and back then, VH1 was our go-to channel after BET was removed from basic cable.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Kanye West, The College Dropout Kendrick Lamar, good kid, m.A.A.d city (Deluxe Version) Lauryn Hill, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill for its political and harmonious brilliance. Kanye’s The College Dropout broadened my view of Black identity beyond gangster rap, blending conscious rap with hip-hop. Good Kid, M.A.A.D City has perfect storytelling.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Ms. Lutra Pine” I chose "Ms. Lutra Pine" because it's a catchy, feel-good song that celebrates the beautiful ladies of Eleuthera, my hometown in The Bahamas.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of my most memorable moments as an artist was when my song "Ms. Lutra Pine" went viral. After years of minimal support, it felt incredibly encouraging to see it gain traction online.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Inviting pioneers of Bahamian rake 'n scrape, to the Grammys to witness the impact they’ve had. My ideal collaboration would be with K.B., Kanye West, André 3000, and Erykah Badu—who knows what we'd sing, but it's my vision for the future.
