In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was a kid I snuck into a Victor Wooten gig at the Jazz Cafe in Camden. I was awestruck by his sheer talent and aimed to play the bass at least half as well as he did. I gave it a bash, and picked up a couple of other instruments along the way.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Jamie Lidell, Multiply Janelle Monáe, The Electric Lady Vulfpeck, Live at Madison Square Garden Soul, funk and groove. Listen, smile, do it all again.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Releasing my debut album - entirely written, played, recorded, mixed, mastered, produced and everything else by me.
