About Patrick Kennedy
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Besides messing around on my neighbour's drums as a 4-year-old, my first time really playing an instrument was a piano in a family cottage in Bancroft. I remember sitting down trying to learn Smoke On The Water by ear, which I figured out eventually.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Eliza Niemi, Staying Mellow Blows Elliott Smith, Figure 8 (Deluxe Edition) USS, Welding the C:/ - EP 'Staying Mellow Blows' is a special album to me because Eliza NIemi cured my writer's block. I got my start playing USS covers plus these guys have supported me since day 1. 'Figure 8' is an incredibly emotional and well-rounded album I always love.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Cow Head” Cow Head is a song I wrote during a really tough transitional period in my life. More or less it's a song for Ash Buchholz of USS and how his music has impacted me–especially at that time. I hope some day I'll get to talk to him about what it means.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? My most memorable moment so far is having Jay (Human Kebab) of USS pull me up on stage at their last Ottawa show to sing a song with them and celebrate their music. Even better we went to sing karaoke in a bar after that show.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? There are some special people I'd like to work with, but I think a concrete bucket list is a bit much. Touring Canada is obviously a big thing, but even just to explore new sounds and instruments seems like a fun step for me.
