Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Age 6, my uncle’s cowboy boots jing-jinged to Johnny Cash’s skipping record. I pressed my ear to the speaker, cheek buzzing, trying to crawl inside the music. First time I felt sound as a place, not just noise.
