American folk and country music was imported to New Zealand by singer/guitarist Peter Caulton. A member of the Country Flyers, Stage Door Trio, and Good News, Caulton performed regularly at local pubs and cruises and made numerous appearances on such television shows as Country Touch, Happen Inn, and Studio One. Although he performed as a solo artist during his later music career, his previous collaborators included the group Rosemary & Friends and ex-Bari & the Breakaways vocalist Midge Marsden. Caulton died shortly after his 71st birthday in March 2018. ~ Craig Harris
