Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I used to live in the Minneapolis metro when I was really young so I had exposure to Prince and the Minneapolis Sound early on. I think this is what eventually made me transition into electronic music. Prince combined hardware drums with guitars.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bok Bok, Your Charizmatic Self Botch, We Are the Romans DJ Rashad, Double Cup The sonic aesthetics of each of these albums pushed boundaries at the time of their releases. I still listen to these releases as they have a timeless quality to them.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Man Down (Instrumental)” I got to collaborate with the legendary DJ Manny, and we got to work with Chicago Rapper Khalfani. I think this release is great because more footwork should feature vocalists. It just the next logical step.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I got to play boiler room here in Chicago. That was such an experience to fulfill, and I got to do it alongside my fellow collaborator, Saint Icky.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to travel more and play shows outside of the US. And play another boiler room.
