An explosive Bay Area hardcore outfit that employs a lethal blend of crossover, Japanese and Scandinavian hardcore punk, and volatile, Cleveland-style punk-metal, San Francisco's Primal Rite grew out of the dissolution of regional heavies Scalped. Stocked with veterans from some of the West Coast hardcore scenes' more notable underground groups like Busted Outlook, Condition, Tony Molina Band, and Face the Rail, and featuring firebrand vocalist Lucy Xavier of Profile (React! Records), the band issued a pair of high octane 7"s in 2017, followed by a lengthy tour with Power Trip and Trapped Under Ice. The group's full-length debut, Dirge of Escapism, was released in February 2018 via Revelation Records. ~ James Christopher Monger
