Bonnie Baxter (Kill Alters) and Matt Stephenson (Machine Girl) come together to form Brooklyn-based duo Prolaps, producing an explosive, manic fusion of punk, drum'n'bass, noise, and rave. Their 2020 debut, Pure Mud Volume 7, is a continuous 24-song montage of blown-out breakbeats, mutated samples, and relentless shouting.
Preceding the duo's collaboration, Baxter made a guest appearance on Machine Girl's 2017 full-length ...Because I'm Young Arrogant and Hate Everything You Stand For. Adopting the monikers Biledriver and Starsore, the two artists began performing as Prolaps, dressing in all-white outfits with matching haircuts and playing chaotic, breakbeat-heavy electro-punk. The project made its recorded debut with Pure Mud Volume 7, released by Hausu Mountain (home to several other releases by Baxter) in 2020. ~ Paul Simpson
