Rafa Vergara's Popular Music Videos
Artist Biography
Songwriter, producer, and vocalist Rafa Vergara hails from Elche, Alicante, Spain. A talented composer and vocalist from a young age, Vergara became known for his talent for songcraft and use of Andalusian influences. His professional career began at the early age of 18 with the release of his first solo album, Confidencias. The record featured ten of his own compositions and was released on the independent label CRIN (Creativos Independientes). After achieving notable radio success and touring extensively on his native soil, Vergara decided to see how his talent would fare on the international scene. Relocating to Miami for the recording of his second album opened some unexpected doors. Soon Vergara was being solicited to write for artists such as Marc Anthony, Jaci Velasquez, Alejandro Montaner, and Victor Manuel, among others. His songs found their way onto 35 records, winning nominations from the Latin Grammys, Billboard, and Premio lo Nuestro. More recently, Vergara has penned hits for breaking artists such as David Bisbal, Kika, Xeronimo, and, most notably, Yahir. Made famous on La Academia, Yahir included one of Vergara's compositions, "La Locura," on his 2004 album Otra Historia de Amor. The song became an anthem in Mexico, spending six consecutive months on the charts. Rafa Vergara's second album, the much anticipated Ojo por Ojo, featuring ten of his best works, is planned for release by EMI Televisa. ~ Evan C. Gutierrez
