Glasgow-based DJ, musician, producer, and composer Rebecca Vasmant's stylistic trademark is blending live jazz with global sounds and club music. Her love for jazz inspired her to create a music combining it with her own electronic approach to composition and mixing, while exploring feminist, spiritual, and environmental themes. As a weekly radio host on BBC Radio Scotland, she's widely considered the linchpin in Glasgow's fertile jazz scene. A regular collaborator with the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, Vasmant has released albums by its members on her Rebecca's Records label. She's taken her music to more than 25 countries on tour. Vasmant released With Love, From Glasgow in 2021, and the international acclaim inspired a sequel, the 2022 EP Dance Yourself Free. After more touring, she returned with 2025's Who We Are, Becoming, the inaugural entry in an ongoing collaboration between the Women in Jazz project and the New Soil label.
