About Redsocks
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
One of our earliest musical memories is playing PunkFest in Ovar (2004), before we were ready for a stage like that. We went from rehearsing in a small room to sharing a lineup with established bands, and that raw chaotic energy shaped who we became.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Green Day, Dookie
NOFX, Punk in Drublic
Tara Perdida, Lambe-Botas
These records shaped our sound and attitude, and they were the soundtrack to our teenage years in the 2000s, when fast, melodic, and honest music meant everything to us.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Kid Gasoline”
Kid Gasoline is one of our favorite songs because it was the first time we stepped outside a straight punk rock rhythm and experimented with different elements. It ended up shaping our sound and marked a turning point in how we write music.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
One of the most memorable moments in our career was playing the Semana do Enterro in Aveiro. It was our first time at a professionally produced event, sharing the stage with established artists, and it felt like a huge step forward for us as a band.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
We can think of many things we have not achieved, but at this stage what matters most is playing for ourselves. Creating music and keeping the friendship that brought us together from the start is what really counts.
