When I was 13 my cousin's girlfriend gave me The Cure's 'Boys Don't Cry,' which defined the direction of my musical interests therafter.

'Waiting' defined the direction of Replicas.
I'd written another set of songs prior to it but once I wrote 'Waiting' I chucked them and focused on principles contained in this one - simplicity, repetition, and a focused purity of expression.
