The working name of Finnish drum'n'bass artist and DJ Riku Pentti (who also goes by the name Infekto), Rico Tubbs -- not to be confused with the Philip Michael Thomas character on Miami Vice, but surely a connection in spirit must have been there -- has been a force on the electronic, dance, and hip-hop scenes in his native Finland from 1994 on. In addition to his formidable scratching skills, Tubbs is co-founder of the breakbeat label Pyssy and one-half of the hip-hop duo Skillsters. One of Finland's first hip-hop figures, Rico Tubbs is also a producer, working with some of the best that nation (and others) have to offer. ~ Chris True
