Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Born in Ibadan, Rite Waves moved to Lagos to chase music through struggle. Once Jizkido, he now brings raw Afrobeat filled with scars, truth, and emotion—a sound that lingers, aches, and heals.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most memorable moments was changing my name from Jizkido to Rite Waves. It wasn’t just a name change—it was the start of a darker, rawer chapter where my scars and struggles became my sound.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I was born on November 6, 1998, and I’ve been making music independently since 2010. My bucket list is to take the sound that grew from pain and struggle to the world’s biggest stages—so people fighting their own shadows know they’re not alone.
