Artist Biography
Canadian singer/rapper Road Runner shares his gritty life experiences and how they’ve shaped him, using a melodic, distinct vocal approach. Born in Pakistan, the artist moved to Toronto with his family as an adolescent to escape civil unrest in his home country. By his teenage years, Road Runner had become enraptured with street life, and the details of those experiences served as material for his musical works. Road Runner’s 2019 breakthrough single, “Never Again,” became a regional anthem, largely due to the searingly honest lyrics, brooding piano, and haunting vocals. The following year, he released “Freezing,” another frank, unflinching track about the difficulties and challenges he’s faced, and how he’s managed to progress regardless of those setbacks. Road Runner’s debut project, 2021’s Forever Alone, continued his tradition of soul-baring authenticity, highlighted by the vulnerable “Nightmares,” a track about the lingering effects of broken trust.
