Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I enjoyed "scoring" piano to Adam West Batman every weekday afternoon. I didn't know they were reruns. Age 3, I began multi-tracking myself using 2 tape decks, playing piano & singing then harmonizing w/ myself. Age 5 I wrote a song for my dead cat.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Radiohead, OK Computer The Beatles, Abbey Road (Remastered) The Dave Brubeck Quartet, Time Out Why is H2O my favorite drink? Every recording studio I set up, from the dungeons & basements of AL, TN, LA & CA, I kept Abbey Rd. on my wall to remind me of my first love. Age 11, OK Computer changed me again. Brubeck taught me time signatures. Voila
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Don't Owe You Anything” It's like the Robert Johnson myth except “The Devil” is “Sorrow” personified. I strike a deal with Sorrow that if he drowns me, anchors me to the deepest, darkest water & I still remember who I Am, my debt's paid. I no longer owe anything to Sorrow.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I only had a day to write, record & mix HOME, PT 2 while I was homeless. The horn player stayed up all night recording in the living room where I was housesitting in exchange for a ride to LAX. DC Comics Doom Patrol aired with my song a week later.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Lullaby, Night & Awakening with a live orchestra. I never heard my music come to life before. I've been playing all the instruments, producing, mixing, everything. I never toured with more than a 4-piece band for budget reasons. I need an orchestra.
