In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memories are with my grandfather. Him being a pianist himself, he would sit me down on the piano and teach me children songs everyday.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Aaron Parks, Little Big II: Dreams of a Mechanical Man Duke Ellington, John Coltrane, Duke Ellington & John Coltrane Herbie Hancock, Mr. Hands Because these three albums have a very strong sense of melody which speaks to my soul all throughout. They have a deep sense of artistic identity as well and I relate to the compositions at a personal level.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing with the great Gregory Tardy and Eric Ineke. Their wisdom on and off the bandstand is something that inspires me deeply.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Yes, to tour in the US and play at the Red Rocks Amphitheater.
