With a glorious contempt for idiocy and imbeciles and a knack for seeing behind the arras of human hypocrisy, White has more in common with fellow Texan and firebrand Bill Hicks than Southern comfort artists like fellow Blue Collar Comedy Tour-ists Larry the Cable Guy and Bill Engvall. A deceptively edgy raconteur with languorously delivered punchlines punctuated with a whiskey’s ice-clink, White is at his best when sardonically recounting tales of dubious glory. While an air of arrogance pervades White’s ramblings, he’s never above sacrificing his own ego for a joke at his own expense.
