When the R&B/hip-hop tandem of Ruffedge and V.E. dropped the bilingual Extreme Pleasure in 2002, it was a barnstormer of an introduction—a fresh-sounding and sophisticated release that ushered in a new era for the genre. Stylishly irreverent with great looks to boot, Ruffedge soared further with Defined a year later. From soothing, melodious ballads like “Bila Rindu” to danceable ditties with attitude like “Goyang”, the hits just kept coming until 2008. A decade later though, their long-awaited comeback was met with two sold out gigs in KL and Singapore.
