Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Musical memories was hearing old country records late at night. The songs carried stories about faith and survival, told by voices that sounded worn by life itself. That atmosphere of, judgment, and redemption became the foundation of the project.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Colter Wall, Colter Wall Johnny Cash, The Best of Johnny Cash Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Darkness At the Edge: Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (Live) Johnny Cash – American IV: The Man Comes Around Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds – Murder Ballads Colter Wall – Imaginary Appalachia These records capture the kind of storytelling and darkness that inspires the Rustborn Preacher sound.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Finishing the first Rustborn Preacher recording and hearing the sound match the vision. That mix of dusty western atmosphere, dark country storytelling, and a low gravel baritone was the moment the project finally felt real.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I’d love to see Rustborn Preacher songs performed live in small, dimly lit rooms where people listen to every word. And one day hearing a song in a western or dark drama film would feel like the story coming full circle.
