About Sam Post
American pianist and composer Sam Post, based in Washington, D.C., has developed a trajectory that moves beyond the conventional frameworks of the piano repertoire. His 2021 album Post Bach, a personal and rhythmically inflected reimagining of Baroque works, offers a clear insight into his artistic approach: revisiting familiar pieces through the lens of American musical traditions, particularly ragtime and other popular idioms. Both performer and creator, he conceives his programs as spaces of dialogue between tradition and invention, in which composition emerges as a natural extension of interpretation.
