About Sam Ryley
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
I remember my neighbor picking me and his son up from pre-school and telling my parents that I was going to be a star one day after singing "Tik Tok" by Ke$ha the whole ride home. I still carry the confidence he had in me then to this day.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Ethel Cain, Inbred
Jeff Buckley, Grace
Lana Del Rey, Blue Banisters
What do "Grace", "Inbred", and "Blue Banisters" all have in common? They all have a song on them that made me feel deeply inspired. Jeff Buckley's yearning, Ethel Cain's rage, and Lana Del Rey's vulnerability have all impacted my songwriting.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Im Stuck”
"I'm Stuck" was one of the first songs I made, and to this day, it still resonates with me a lot. My attachment to this song is also tied to the nostalgia it evokes for the summer of 2020, when it was written.
