Santino Surfers is the brainchild of veteran Danish guitarist, composer, and producer Jonas Krag, whose long career has seen him play sideman to American soul icons, Danish pop mainstays, and work extensively in film and television. The Santino Surfers' largely instrumental sound is an amorphous, sometimes gauzy meld of intensely melodic, reverbed guitars, keys, bass, and organic and synthetic percussion, crisscrossing soul, jazz, countrypolitain, lithe funk, and sunny psychedelia. It's all wrapped in "surf" atmospherics, reverb, and textures that weave a consistently grooving, liberated ambience at once airy, warm, and cohesive. Following the 2018 "Morning Lights" single, several more appeared over the next few years. Their eponymous debut album was released by Music for Dreams in 2023.
