Artist Biography
Sara Bug dresses her atmospheric indie pop with hints of alt-country, a combination showcased on her eponymous 2021 debut. Bug creates an intimate, tuneful bed for her high, slightly thin voice, a sound that matches the intimacy of her songwriting.
Sara Bug -- her surname derives from a nickname given to her due to her small size -- was born in Mississippi and raised in New Orleans, where she spent her adolescence immersed in music. She moved to Nashville in 2013. The transition wasn't easy. Bug documented her unease in journals which wound up providing the basis for her eponymous debut album. Before she made the album, she spent some time working in the fashion industry in New York during the mid-2010s, eventually returning to the south in 2016.
