Trumpeter and singer/songwriter Sarah Kramer makes folky, organic music that builds upon her jazz studies at Bard College, years spent accompanying other artists. A native of West Orange, New Jersey, Kramer played trumpet and guitar growing up and eventually attended Bard on a Nesuhi Ertegun jazz scholarship. When not studying jazz, Kramer would play her original songs at cafés around New York City and places like Woodstock, New York. After graduating, Kramer spent eight years in New Orleans performing a wide array of musical styles from jazz to blues and rock, as well as developing her own singer/songwriter pop sound. In 2003 she relocated to Los Angeles, where she found work as a studio musician, all the while continuing to write and perform her own music. In 2013 Kramer released her debut album, Home, which featured nine originals and a cover of soul legend Curtis Mayfield's "People Get Ready." ~ Matt Collar
