Artist Biography
Jamaican dancehall singer/producer Serani has a knack for making unforgettable tunes, whether he’s creating beats for other artists or grabbing the mic on his own silky songs.
∙ Breaking into the music industry as a producer, Serani formed the production trio Daseca in 2001, crafting riddims for such artists as Vybz Kartel, Busy Signal, Mavado, and Elephant Man.
∙ He coproduced the first two singles on Sean Paul’s 2005 LP, The Trinity, including the Platinum-certified “We Be Burnin’ (Recognize It).”
∙ “No Games,” his breakthrough single as a solo artist, debuted at No. 55 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart in 2008 and scored him a major-label deal.
∙ Serani’s debut LP, No Games, reached No. 3 on Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart.
∙ In 2013, he teamed up with Rick Ross and 2 Chainz on Bun B’s “Fire,” and he later guested (alongside Jeremih) on Burna Boy’s 2019 track “Secret.”
