With his brand of flirty and melodic songs, London’s ZieZie became a breakout star of the emerging Afroswing scene.
• The son of Congolese immigrants, ZieZie grew up in London’s Chessington and Croydon sections.
• Growing up, with the encouragement of his father, he focused on soccer. After his dad died when he was 12, he lost motivation for the sport, though he still supports the club Arsenal.
• ZieZie began posting songs online and quickly earned six-figure stream counts. His fourth song, 2017’s “Mingle,” ignited his career.
• His 2017 single “Fine Girl” led to an RCA/Sony Records deal and went platinum in the UK.
• ZieZie used the money from his Sony contract to get him and his mother out of debt and move to West London.
• In 2019, ZieZie guested on British rapper Aitch’s “Buss Down,” which cracked the Top 10 in the UK.
