Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I had a baby sitter during the summer of 2008, and she had SANTIGOLD's self-titled SANTIGOLD tape in her car and we would listen to the tape everyday we were together. That project changed my life and my ears. My favorite song is You'll Find A Way.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Lady Gaga, The Fame Rihanna, ANTI (Deluxe) Santigold, Santigold Sonically, these three albums speak to my soul. I produce my music and a lot of my inspiration for the music I make today comes from my middle/highschool years when I listened to pop heavy. These three albums are all incredible bodies of work.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Attn” I wanted people to listen to my music and I thought if I made a song titled "Attn" it would do just that, get people's Attn. It's special because it was created pretty organically, after I made the beat the lyrics flowed right out.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I just attended my first award show, the 35th Annual Wammies in Washington, DC, on April 1. The whole experience was incredible and it was beautiful to be in a room with so many artists!
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Oh my gosh, I haven't even scratched the surface. I would love to perform at Global Citizen, and just continue to use my voice to speak up for marginalized groups of people around the world.
